Chocolate Cream Pie

This pie is my uncle Phil's favorite that Grandmother Buckley used to make.
Ingredients
  • ¾ C. Sugar
  • 3 Egg Yolks, beaten
  • 3 T. Cornstarch
  • 1 T. Butter
  • ½ tsp. Salt
  • 1½ tsp. Vanilla
  • 3 C. Milk
  • 1½ sq. unsweetened Chocolate
  • Pillsbury Already Pie Crust
Instructions
  1. Mix Sugar, Cornstarch, and salt in saucepan.
  2. Stir Milk in gradually.
  3. Add cut-up Chocolate.
  4. Cook over med. heat stirring constantly until mixture thickens and boils.
  5. Boil 1 min. and remove from heat.
  6. Gradually stir half of mixture into Egg yolks.
  7. Then blend that into hot mixture in saucepan.
  8. Boil 1 min. more, stirring constantly.
  9. Remove from heat.
  10. Blend in Butter and Vanilla.
  11. Pour into prepared Pie Shell.
