Our family has always been a big fan of this sauce. Years ago Mom and Dad were able to buy it at their local Friday's. I have always wanted to be able to reproduce it. I found Melissa's recipe and tweaked it a little and think it is pretty much spot on.
Ingredients
  • 2 Tbs Minced Garlic
  • 2 Tbs Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1⅓ C Water
  • 2 C Dole Pineapple Juice
  • ½ C PF Chang's Teriyaki Sauce
  • 2 Tbs Soy Sauce
  • 2⅔ C Dark Brown Sugar
  • 6 Tbs Lemon Juice
  • 3 Tbs Minced White Onion
  • 2 Tbs Jack Daniels Whiskey
  • 2 Tbs Dole Crushed Pineapple
  • 1 Tsp Cayenne Pepper
Instructions
  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the water, pineapple juice, teriyaki sauce, soy sauce and brown sugar over medium heat.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring occasionally.
  3. Then reduce the heat until mixture is just simmering
  4. Add the minced garlic and whisk to combine
  5. Add olive oil, lemon juice, minced white onions, whiskey, crushed pineapple and cayenne pepper
  6. Whisk to combine
  7. Let the mixture simmer for 40 to 50 minutes or until the sauce has reduced by about half and is thick and syrupy.
