Christmas Breakfast Casserole

This is a great breakfast casserole that you prepare the night before and put in the oven when you wake up on Christmas morning. It is ready by the time everyone else is awake, wonder what that delightful aroma is.
Ingredients
- 1 lb Pork Sausage (Optional if you have a vegetarian in the family)
- 1 Tsp Mustard Powder
- ½ Tsp Granulated Garlic
- ½ Tsp Kosher Salt
- 4 Eggs
- 2 Cups Skim Milk
- 2 Bags Garlic Butter Croutons
- 8 Oz Bag Shredded Cheddar Cheese (I prefer taco cheese varieties)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven to 350 degrees
- Crumble sausage into skillet
- Cook sausage over medium heat until done
- Spray 9x13 pan with Pam non-stick cooking spray
- Cover bottom of pan with single layer of croutons
- In medium size mixing bowl, beat eggs well
- Whisk in 2 cups of milk and mix to even consistency
- Add mustard powder, granulated garlic and kosher salt
- Whisk to dissolve
- Add sausage to mixture (optional)
- Add cheese to mixture and mix in evenly
- Add croutons to mixture and toss to evenly coat
- Pour croutons and mixture back into 9x13 pan
- Level the contents in the pan and make sure it is evenly distributed
- Cook 45 to 60 minutes, covered, at 350 degrees
- Reduce oven temperature to 325 degrees
- Remove covering and cook for an additional 30 minutes until set
