Lisa's sweet potato casserole has become a Thanksgiving staple at our house. It is practically a dessert.
Ingredients
  • 40 Oz Recipe
  • Casserole
  • 40 Oz Can Bruces Yams
  • ½ Cup Light Brown Sugar
  • ⅓ Cup Butter Melted
  • 1 Tsp Vanilla
  • ½ Tsp Kosher Salt
  • Topping
  • 1 Cup Marshmallows
  • 1 Cup Light Brown Sugar
  • ⅔ Cup Flour
  • ⅔ Cup Butter Melted
  • 110 Oz Recipe
  • Casserole
  • 110 Oz Can Bruce's Yams
  • 1½ Cups Brown Sugar
  • 1 Cup Butter
  • 3 Tsp Vanilla
  • 1½ Tsp Kosher Salt
  • Topping
  • 3 Cups Marshmallows
  • 3 Cups Light Brown Sugar
  • 2 Cups Flour
  • 2 Cups Butter Melted
Instructions
  1. Casserole
  2. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees
  3. Drain yams
  4. Mash yams in a large mixing bowl
  5. Add in brown sugar, melted butter, vanilla and kosher salt
  6. Mix until smooth
  7. Spray pan with Pam
  8. Topping
  9. In a mixing bowl, combine light brown sugar, flour and melted butter
  10. Apply toppings evenly over casserole
  11. Bake in oven for 30 to 40 minutes
  12. After removing from the oven, evenly layer marshmallows over the top of the casserole, allowing the internal temperature to melt the marshmallows
  13. Just before time to serve, place in oven under the broiler set to low, to lightly brown the marshmallows
  14. Watch carefully as it will only take about 30 seconds.
